Who are We?

 Well we are finding out!

Well as you can see it’s not all work doing
our family history; this is some members enjoying our wee Christmas Party”.

The Genealogy group has been running now for about two years, it is a small informal group, where you can learn how to research and store your family history. The group have access to computers, printers and the internet, provided by the project enabling them to carry out their research.

The members do not just stay in the classroom doing their research; we regularly visit the local archives and have made several trips to the General Register Office in Edinburgh giving us access to all statuary records ,we travel to these places in the  project minibus.

The class on a Monday morning has maximum members at present. At the end of 2008, we had to add another morning as the Monday class was too large; therefore, there is an additional class on a Tuesday morning. Both Classes start at 10 o’clock and last for two hours.  There is a small monthly charge to cover the cost of “pay as you view” websites.

Looking to the future, we hope to welcome more members and we hope to start up a reminiscence group about the village culminating in a book.
